The Long Island Depression Glass Society is a non-profit organization,
founded in 1975. The Society's aims are to study, preserve, and
foster the understanding and appreciation of American Depression
Era Glassware.
Our meetings provide the membership with a varied program
of slides, discussions, displays and lectures of selected patterns,
and glass identification. In addition to guest speakers and presentations
from other related fields, discount reference book purchases,
member trade tables, and access to the Society's extensive library
are also provided.
The Society sponsors two major Glass Shows, one General Antique
Show, and a Depression Glass Auction each year. These events
are admission-free to members (low-cost to non-members). Educational
field trips, year-end party, bus trips to other glass shows,
library outreach programs, and numberous local exhibits round
out some of the Society's activities.
